Sometimes, things get the better of our tech-savviness, like when we suddenly realize that sometimes, some browsers will bypass our temporary splash page (where it says in very large letters, "
Click Here To Donate!") and take you straight to the page with the blog posts, e.g. this one right hyar.
And it's not as though we want to bludgeon you with the "
Click Here To Donate!" message. I mean, if we were to say "
Click Here To Donate!" too often, you might become numb to the fact that we really do need to actually pay the bills around here. Saying "
Click Here To Donate!" too often might put you off the idea that we put together a unique mix of classic alternative, punk, modern rock and new wave tracks along with brand new indiediscodancepunkjangletweecrunchgrind tracks that may not even hit stores for weeks, and that it all fits together somehow. So we wouldn't want to keep telling you to "
Click Here To Donate!" for fear that you might not understand that we support the bands we play by paying all the royalties we're supposed to be paying.
And if we were to say "
Click Here To Donate!" again as a way to let you know that we've got equipment that sometimes breaks down (oh boy, does it) and needs fixing, and that we sometimes have to get new equipment, like computers and audio stuff, we wouldn't want you to get the wrong idea. I mean, we wouldn't want you to think that clicking "
Click Here To Donate!" was the only way you could have a meaningful two-way relationship with us. The feedback link's still highlighted above, so we've still got that. And we'll always have Paris.
But mostly, we wouldn't want to say "
Click Here To Donate!" too much because it might sour you on the whole "we're in this together" sort of mindset that you might have rolling around in your head, that you feel like the station's a part of you, and you'd miss it if you suddenly had to deal with our station being "that great station that went away like all the other great stations." Because we're not going away. And saying "
Click Here To Donate!" won't make us go away any less.
So
