I Don't Know About You Guys, But I'm Excited...

We're only a few days from the Pre-92 Melody Reunion, and I've just gotten off the phone with Stiffy Biceptz yet again - and it appears things are moving along swimmingly. So swimmingly, in fact, that with the concurrence of Bruce at the Loop Lounge, we'll likely be webcasting the entire shindig's musical component via Altrok Radio. At this point, it's safest to do it as a tape-delayed sort of thing a few days after the fact, but if we can work out the connectivity to do it live, we may just. We'll see.

Aside from the rumored appearance of a certain bald-headed impresario, it appears WRSU's Ed Wong will be among the folks doing the spinning, and I believe it'll be Pat Pierson running the decks after the event proper and on into the night - corrections are welcome, of course.

All I'm planning on having is a good afternoon - and if it gets better than that, bonus. What's not to like about bonuses?

And here's that info again: it's the Pre-'92 Melody Bar Reunion, 5PM on February 17, 2007, at the Loop Lounge in Passaic NJ. Ages 35-and-over only, please, or we'll have to yell at you to get off our lawn.

We've stood by as truly independent alternative rock radio died. Sure, something called "alternative" took its place, but we know for sure that anything that "tests well" with soccer moms just ain't alternative. (Even if some of us happen to be soccer moms.) So we've taken matters into our own hands.

This really is independent alternative rock radio, visible here at Altrok.com and audible at our web radio station. It has the classic music that fired our passions back in the day - or that we maybe only heard about from our elders - but it's mostly made of the new music that does precisely the same for us now. We're paying attention to scenes all over the world, watching the energy build, and waiting to see what it creates. Wherever it happens, we'll make sure you can hear about it here. We've been slowly building all this since 2001, and now that you've noticed us, we're glad you're here.
